Volume model - which subscription should I choose?

Eponet charges 1 cent/kWh for data communication between the charging station and the Eponet backend.

For charging infrastructures with high own consumption, the 1 cent/kWh for own consumption can be excluded. This requires a Business Premium or Business Advanced subscription.

With the Business Premium subscription, a charging point can be reduced to 0.5 pence/kWh for own consumption.
With the Business Advanced subscription, the 1 pence/kWh for own consumption can be removed entirely.

Once Business Premium or Business Advanced has been activated, you can specify for each charging point whether the volume model is desired or not.

Example:
You have 20 DC charging points for your electric trucks with high own consumption. You can activate the volume model for these charging points (costs £2/month).
Then you have 10 AC charging points in the employee car park where employees charge with automatic Eponet billing. Here, the amount of kWh is manageable and the charges are automatically billed to the users. No volume model needs to be activated here and the £2/month for the volume model is not applicable.

Here you can see that the volume model is activated at the first two charging points.

Why does Eponet charge 1 cent/kWh?
As a rule, each charging station communicates with the Eponet OCPP server every 30 seconds and even every second during the charging session. This includes data such as power, consumption, voltage and much more. All Eponet servers are located in the native cloud at AWS in Zurich. Eponet accesses the best possible infrastructure in the world in terms of reliability and security. You can find more information on this on the Data and servers in the native cloud page.

Please note the following regarding the volume model:
The account holder is responsible for ensuring that the volume model is also activated for newly connected charging stations. This must be activated individually for each charging station.
Reason:
You may have charging stations where the electricity is always resold (i.e. public charging stations), in which case the volume model does not need to be activated.
