Eponet machine billing
With Eponet machine billing, machines – washing machines, dryers, Secomats or, for example, a washing area for vehicles – can be billed according to consumption.
The principle is simple and similar to charging a vehicle in e-mobility. The user has an RFID card, which they hold up to the respective RFID reader on the machines.
The Eponet system checks whether the user is authorised to use the machine (authorisations are checked in the background; are they allowed to use it? If there is a charge, the balance is checked first, then the machine is switched on and, after use, the machine either switches off after a predefined time or the user can switch it off by holding the RFID card up to the reader twice). Finally, the amount is deducted from the user account and transferred to the machine operator, and the user receives a detailed receipt in their account.
Examples of machine billing can be found here in the Eponet references.
Foreword to machine billing
Eponet is the billing service provider and does not carry out any installations. These are always carried out by the installation partner on site. The same applies to first level support.
The only components for machine billing that Eponet supplies are:
- Eponet EdgeServer – link to data sheet
- Eponet RFID reader in Edizio design
- Relay board
- USR device server
All other components, such as energy meters (according to the Eponet list), 19" rack, cabling and installation, are provided by the installation partner. The system requires a stable internet connection. The internet connection must be provided on site.
