What does SuspendedEV or other Charger status messages mean?

Charging stations communicate with Eponet via the OCPP standard. To do this, the charging station can send its status to the Eponet backend. The following list explains the possible status messages. Important to know: Eponet displays what the charging station sends us. Not all charging stations behave in the same way.

Available

No vehicle is connected to the port; the port is available for a new vehicle to connect.

Preparing

The connection is no longer available for connecting a new vehicle, but the charging process has not yet started. Between plugging in a vehicle and starting the charging process, this status indicates that the charger is preparing. In this status, communication between the vehicle and the charger is ongoing and the charger is waiting for authorisation and the payment process.

Charging

The connection is currently charging the vehicle.

SuspendedEV

The vehicle is plugged into the connection but is not accepting power from the charger. The reason for this may be that the vehicle is fully charged or configured to stop charging at a certain threshold.

SuspendedEVSE

The vehicle is plugged into the connection, but the charger is not supplying power for a reason related to the charger, e.g. energy management settings of the charger or load management.

Unavailable

The connection is currently unavailable for charging. This status means that the charging station is undergoing maintenance or is about to restart.

Faulted

This message informs you that there is currently a fault or problem with the connection. This status can be displayed in various situations. Sometimes the fault can be rectified by resetting the charger or by unplugging and replugging the connector.

Finishing

The charging process is complete, but the vehicle is still plugged in. The connection is not yet available for another vehicle at this time.

Offline

The charging station is disconnected from the backend; communication is no longer taking place. A common cause is loss of internet connection.
